ADHD
What is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that can impact both children and adults. People with ADHD often struggle with concentration, restlessness, and impulsivity, making it difficult to stay organized or focused on daily tasks. Symptoms usually appear early in life and may become more noticeable when a child starts school, though many continue into adulthood.
Peak Wellness Psychiatry provides a holistic approach to online psychiatry. We can also incorporate medications when appropriate, lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and all aspects that encompass your complete wellness. With each patient, our aim is to help you thrive at your best by moving you from a state of everyday symptom management toward optimal mental wellness!

How is ADHD Treated?
At Peak Wellness Psychiatry, we are dedicated to providing accessible, compassionate care for individuals living with ADHD. Our goal is to address often overlooked symptoms with a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
Before starting ADHD treatment, your provider will review your full medical history, assess current symptoms, and, when appropriate, perform a physical exam or recommend in-person evaluations. This thorough approach ensures that other conditions are ruled out, allowing us to create the most effective strategy to manage your ADHD and improve daily functioning.
NON-STIMULANT MEDICATIONS
Non-stimulant medications are another option for treating ADHD symptoms. While they may not be as fast-acting or effective as stimulant medications, they can be helpful for individuals who cannot tolerate stimulants or are at risk of misuse. Unlike stimulants, non-stimulants have no potential for abuse and are not used recreationally.
Common non-stimulant ADHD medications include:
Strattera (atomoxetine)
Wellbutrin (bupropion)
Qelbree (viloxazine)
These options may be recommended when stimulant medications are not suitable or effective.
